Anonymous asked: So you recently went to San Antonio, were you as disappointed with the Alamo as I was? It kinda ruins it for me with it being right there in the middle of town.
Well, honestly, I stopped caring about the Alamo about middle school. I go to San Antonio a lot, and, because I grew up in Texas, I’ve sort of been brow beat with Texas history. “Remember the Alamo” is so ingrained in my little brain that it might be the very last thing I can remember when I start loosing my mind.
In fact, I don’t even bother to go see it anymore when I go down there.
But, I do remember being a very young girl and being really interested and excited to see it for the first time. You can still sort of feel the history of the place. I’m not surprised its in the middle of town. It was a mission, and towns normally grew up around mission. I’m a little sad that there aren’t more Texas related artifacts in and around the Alamo for us to take a look at, but, of course, how many Texas artifacts could there be? Right? Not that many… surely…
