It's not just you, but a small group of 'popular' writers who all seem to talk only to each other. Most of the commentary is not constructive; it's just mean. It's unbecoming, divides the fandom, and frankly takes the fun out of being a fan.

I don’t comment knowingly about fan fiction writers whose first language isn’t English. That… no. If you think I am, you’re mistaken. People who write in a language that is not their native tongue shouldn’t pay any attention to anything I say about syntax structure. I’m not talking about them.

I don’t think I’ve ever commented on plot lines that lack sophistication because, let’s fact it, some of my own stuff is pretty out there.
