Ms. Anderson was at this year’s “Signs, Hints, Code Words, and Tests” Symposium and has mention interest in attending again at a later point. He workshop entitled “Hair Color: What Each Shade of Red Says About You” was met with an overwhelming positive response. Should she return to our yearly Symposium, we understand that she is willing to do another such workshop.

For various reasons, our mascot is the honorable Squirrel.

From their persistence to high level of socializing to quick nimbleness to the appreciation for the nutty… erm nuts, we feel their best qualities represent our best qualities.

Our colors are Red, brown, and white.

It is with great excitement that we also mention our school song was written and sung by the very talented KD Lang, and our school fight song was written and sung by the equally talented Melissa Etheridge. Both women have been guest speakers during our annual  ”Signs, Hints, Code Words, and Tests” Symposium held in the summer, and both were kind enough to offer up their talents to us.

Absolutely!

Each of our professors has set times they will be in their office and accessible to the general student body. Many professors are also willing to set up personal one-on-one time as needed.

It is one of our guiding principles that all of our faculty should be as flexible and persistent as needed to ensure our students get exactly what they need in order to reach the absolute height of their potential and to be as gentle as the situation requires to help any student back down from any climatic falls they may sustain while in the pursuit of their intended goals.

We are happy to offer a variety of activities to our student body, and we’re always happy to have an open mind to the suggestions of our students. 

This is why we are very proud to announce that, due to popular demand, we are bringing back the Fencing Team and the Field Hockey Team. 

We here at SoUST strive to be all inclusive, which is why you will find clubs for everything from soccer, tennis, and swimming to robotics, chess, and abstract art.

You will also find clubs for gaming (board games, video games, table top games, and LARPing), volunteerism, green living, ASL, and Facebook gaming (we feel this is far different than ‘gaming’ and deserves its own category).

Our largest extra-curricular activity, by far, is Fandom Building, and you will find many clubs and organizations dedicated to fangirling, fan fiction writing, voyeurism, dying over one’s OTP, blogging (with a large focus on tumblr and LiveJournal), and social media communication to stay connected with those in other parts of the world who ‘get you’, unlike those who live closer to home.

Because we currently do not offer any graduate programs, we do not have a Teaching Assistant program. However, we do offer student worker positions within many of our departments, some of which do allow you to work directly with the faculty and staff.

Applications may be found in the Registrar’s Office. However, we would like to warn you that positions are limited, and there is a rather long waiting list to work in Ms. Alexander’s department.

We understand she enjoys cheese, though we would never suggest bribery as a course of action for being handpicked to be an assistant for any of our professors.
